- Detector(s) used
- Tesoro Lobo ST, Garrett Fortune Hunter, Ace 250
Here are a couple pics of my hunting partner crossing the Salt River.
The rocks are covered with slippery moss. She almost made it to the
other side when she slips on the rocks and the Lobo gets tossed into
the air. This is the second time in the last month that the detector
took a bath. This time, she is wearing the housing on her belt and
it did not get wet, but the rest of it went into the water. The last time
the whole detector took a swim. It was squeeling like a pig when when
she pulled it from the water. She took the batteries out of it immediately,
which is the first step for anything electronic that gets wet. We took the
detector home and I sprayed the circuit board with a gun cleaner that is
suppose to dissapate moisture. Put it in the sun for a few hours to let it dry.
Surprisingly, it came back to life. The first pic is of her crossing the river,
the second is of the detector getting airborn. If you look close you can see
her reaching out to try to catch it.
