This week's find is a special one. It's a ring recovery, platinum with 5 diamonds. Total carat weight of 1.25 ct, but quite a bit larger sentimental value.
Emily lost her 5 year wedding anniversary ring at a local winery. After 2 days of searching with the help of the staff, she purchased her own metal detector only to be frustrated with its operation and effectiveness. She had essentially given up hope of finding her keepsake when a coworker suggested Ringfinders. She dutifully looked up the Ringfinder in her area and contacted me.
I met up with her at the winery and took about 20 minutes to retrace her steps, indoors and outdoors, but this did not produce any result. My last real chance at finding her ring was a grid search of the parking lot. She had a general idea of where they'd parked the car, but the details were fuzzy enough that I prepared to search the entire lot. Now this parking area was nearly an acre and gravel, so the challenge was on.
About 45 minutes into the grid search, BOOM! That familiar low staccato sound of a midtone surface target. The prize was right under my coil.
The staff was amazed about the recovery and later that night, returning the ring to Emily, she fought back tears of joy at reuniting with her lost ring. This never gets old and I am honored each time to be a part of the story.

As always, thanks for peeking and HH from KC!
