i got a minelab xterra from them too.... i think youll be fine... call them tomorrow.

You should have no problems. But keep us posted on how it goes.....Matt

I think they will allow you to return it with any problems.....It was bad out of the box.

If there is any problem I am sure Kellycochick here will be able to help you...

They should replace it no problem. I wouldn't accept anything but and fight tooth and nail until it happened. Right is right!

Based on experience, they will tell you to send it to Minelab...they're just a distibuter...but thats just based on my experience. :P

Yeah but the idea is to distribute detectors that work. There's a big difference between issues after 6 months use, and bad right out of the box. If you bought a TV and got home and it didn't work should you have to send the thing away? Of course not.

They'll just switch it for a new one.

PS.... Not sure what's up with the Poll? Why would you want to deal with Minelab? It's Kellyco that sold you the bad unit, deal with them.

Matters, I just bought a Ecal II from Kellyco.DEC 2009 I used there BOGO and bought a Cobra Beach magnet for 99 dollars at the same time.Mine arrived in a 3 days I checked out the Minelab and the next day the cobra. I found the cobra to be messed up the shaft fell out the indicator light did not work. There V-4 pinpointer didn't work either. I first did a net search for returns and found the same as there page. I then did a search for kellyco return problems and was scared to death as there are pages of nightmares out there!
I called them first thing the next morning. The lady was very polite took my info passed me to another lady who set me up with a Postage Paid UPS label. They emailed it 3 days later after going through there system. I have since returned the items. They haven't even received them yet.
What I am saying here is don't believe all you see on the bad pages for Kellyco!
My main problem was going to be with having to pay for shipping back to them on an item I just bought that didn't work, this never became an issue.Even if Minelabs takes the return it should be free.

Just a side note yes if you by a TV and it doesn't work they WILL NOT TAKE IT BACK its yours to keep they will only fix it in place or replace it in your home. Things have changed! I have gone through this twice! steve

Well things must be different where you shop, because if they sell me a bad TV and won't take it back, they might find it through their front window. :) I know of no store here that would not take a broken product back if you returned it right away.

i will bet that they do and exchange and you will have your new detector with in 3 days of them getting your old one back
they will even send ups or fedex to pick up the old one

If today I buy something and its broke, and tomorrow I return it...
you had better take it back ....

Amazon.com has a 100% satisfaction guarantee if your not happy you will get all your
money back, the seller has no legs to stand on.

Kellyco has a policy that states that if you buy a detector from them and you don't like it, you may
return it for a refund minus a large % restocking fee ??? it's a lot..
or you can go for curtain #2 and buy an "Upgrade" machine...
By spending more $ you can use the credit in what you have to get a differeant machine.
and avoid the restocking fee...

Herin lies the problem, you get the detector as a gift, for yourself or someone else,
and you or they don't want it.... they or you don't want a detector at all...
Kellyco will still get a big chunk of your money for "restocking" regardless of weather you get a machine or not.

I do not know if this applies to broken out of the box detectors,
my vote must fall on the side of caution and believe they will send another unit upun return
of the defective one, without problems... or restocking fees....

TORRERO The return policy your talking about is if you want to return a detector you do not like, not one that was defective out of the box. There is no fees for returning a defective detector. If you return a detector and want to exchage it for a different type or model there is where the restocking fees come in to play, if you want your money back the fee is 10% higher then the exchange fee.

Any detector returned to them is considered used and resold as such which is the purpose of the restocking fee to cover the difference. I personally would be very unhappy if I bought what I thought was a new detector only to discover that someone else owned it for 2 weeks and returned it because they did not like it, as far as I am concerned they would have sold me a used detector and charged me for a new one.

I agree with youTORRERO, I don't think he will have a problem returning it...........The only issue may be that it was so long between the date of sell and return....Some stores have a no return policy after 30 days.........KC gives fairly good customer service........

Well I am not to impressed with Kelly Co yet. I called them this morning and was put on hold, later they took my phone number to call me back so I do this and wait around for them to call me back. I finally after sometime get tired of waiting and call them back. I have explained my problem to the operator twice now and get put on hold again, 41 minutes later a guy gets on the phone and tells me he can't help me my problem it is tech support and they will not be in until Monday. Now I understand there is no tech support guy there at the time but why wasn't I told that in the begining. What a waste of a morning. Hope this gets better.

They have limited staff on the weekends, and like any business they are swamped with people the day after Christmas, they have a lot of walk in business. I live in Orlando, been to their store many times, they are quite busy on regular weekends, I can only imagine what it is like the day after Christmas. If you walk in with one that isn't working they can take care of you then, unfortunately on orders shipped out it takes longer.......

Try them again on Monday.....

Yes I understand all that but I called the tech line not the sales line told the girl twice my problem and wait half a day for a salesman to tell me no tech help is here today. If I were told from the begining call back Monday I would have be fine with that and understood. But don't run me around all morning and then tell me call back later.
