I have a background in Geology and Archaeology, with experience in caving and plenty of detecting. If you have questions about rocks I can help or at least point you to a reference to help, my Archaeology experience is primarily Eastern Woodlands, Kentucky, and Ohio River Valley. I also have an extensive bit of info on stuff from the Huron River Valley. I use a Garrett Ace 250 (I just can't afford a higher quality rig), picks, screens, and have multiple magnets. I do surface collection, ground and river detecting. My areas of interest are in post Columbian exchange artifacts (I don't deal with any First Nations artifacts, those are sacred to their people), bottles, and other stuff. I have just started a metal detecting club in Ann Arbor Michigan (surprised there wasn't one here already (a few in the outlying area but I can't travel far)). Glad I found this site!
