Does anyone know what kind of buckle this is and what it was used for? I’ve found coins from 1830’s at this spot if that helps. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1510587832.270289.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1510587854.598689.webp

Harness buckle. For horse or mule. Could be work horse, driving horse or pack animal related. That type of buckle is still being made today.
