Got out for about 5 hours with Freddy67 today. Spent 4 of those on a brand new site that was quite exciting, as soon as I "stumbled" on it I dig up a complete shoe buckle frame. No guts, (boo-who), but probably my best so far.

Button, button, then came a nice green GEO II which has a readable date, 1753, best GEO II of the year.

Dug a few more holes. then I pull out the largest flat button I ever seen, it's fully 40mm, the size of an 8 reale, still has gilt on it's design, stand up shank , and not the slightest bend, and a pretty overall green. It's perfect.

All in all a most excellent hunt, and just in the nick of time, snow, and cold is on the way.

The IH, came from a different place on the way back, and is the first of the year, and it too is "decent".

The lot.

Not included 4 musket balls, and another of the fancy plates. (can't spell that word)

EDIT: As I usually like to have at least one group pic. with dirt I'll add one of the button as it appeared from the dirt, a frame from short video clip. Notice how sunny it was.

Good Luck Out There.

That dandy button is KILLER. :occasion14:

Love that big old button. Great coins and a really nice buckle frame. Heck of a day I would say my friend

If I hadn't thrown my two from today in the pile I would have posted them saying... you get that, while I get this. (Both had big bends)

Even that ornate flower design thingy is nice.

I've got similar before, even another one this day, but this is the first with some design stamped on it.
Hoping I didn't hunt that site out that fast, one hunt.

That was hilarious

Rick, what a fantastic assortment. Everything seems to have both history and eye appeal. Nice additions to any display. Cheers

Nice hunt Rick! Liking the copper and the big button for sure, and I would be smiling at the end of the day with a mitt full of those finds.

Great finds Rick! Love that big dandy button! The buckle is cool too. Congrats

Love those huge dandies Rick, and I think you've gotten my biggest one beat by a couple mm. Nice coin too. And is that thin brass item a piece of furniture hardware?
