Today I was going with my family to a park called white oak park for frisbee golf, but after we were done I saw a creek right by the playground and I also had a small shovel and classifier with me so I dug. First scoop had some small garnets, but the next scoop had a bunch of garnets, big and small and even a huge 1 inch and a half garnet that weighs about 4 ounces. 566 carats. I even found a quartz epidote cluster with garnet and a black tourmaline cluster too. I only have a picture of the garnet, but believe me there are some really nice minerals at that creek. I don’t care if I start a mini mineral rush or something because I want everyone to find some beautiful minerals for free. Here is a tip you want to look for the minerals closest to the bank, and closest to the bedrock.

Very nice garnet! Reminds me of a little stream outside Lawrenceville Georgia where i used to live it was loaded with garnets and fine gold.
