so i grab the ole 202 and go get the OK to hit a old 1850s homestead.. the place was hit hard before by the owner. so i give it a go any how. well i started doing my grid work and the targets were far and few but i did manage a 1947d wheat and a 72 dog tag. and a odd end or two. well then i got a good hit and out popped this crusty old watch well i saw that bright color hidding under the dirty crust. give it a rub and holy smokes its gold and fat. so i get back to the home and spent a hour cleaning it up. top ring is a plated gold. the front Assembly looks to screw into the body it is threaded. and the main case looks to be solid gold. total weight 3 ounce. gold weight I'm guessing 2 ounce with the guts out.. but this is what this hobby is all about getting the gold, silver, and relics. this is one of my best vacations so far and tomorrow I'm hitting another 1860s farm house. thanks for looking and best of digs to all MR TUFF
