Always par boi the bear and save the fat; that is where chewing the fat came from maybe. Bob

Almost everyday :laughing7:

That's why they always advise people NOT to go shopping if they haven't ate yet or are hungry. Most folks wind up spending more money. I've done this quite a few times. Heck, you just start buying everything. Root beer flavored Mountain Dew, mmmmmmmm, sounds yummy. Check. Pizza and lo mein flavored Lay's potato chips, wow, gotta get those. Chocolate covered pretzels with gouda cheese inside, how can I say no. Get the picture? :laughing7:

All of those budgeting magazines always recommend pre-cooking your food and saving it for the coming week. Or, making a cooking list for the week and ONLY buying groceries for what you need to cook. But, who wants to do that?!?! That's no fun :laughing7:

I like to keep some of that pre-cooked bacon in the fridge, when all else fails pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and waalaa...bacon sandwich  Bacon always sounds (and tastes) good.If you are lucky enough to have some of those garden fresh tomatos Tee mentioned it's even better.

I hate when this happens, not even sure how it's possible, but there are times when I'm so hungry I could eat a bear, and yet nothing sounds good. Anyone else ever get like this? What's up with that?

Been happening to me alot lately.

Gets pretty bad when even a rare Steak dosn't sound
appetizing :(

I'v always been a Very Picky Eater.
But lately even the things I Do like;
I Don't Like.

Picky eater,...me too. And like you say, lately nothing sounds good. I'm usually a finger food guy, grab a handfull of stuff and eat it on the fly, I seldom sit down for a big meal. But the other day I was starved and even went to the grocery store and still couldn't find anything that sounded good. On the other hand, tonight everything sounded good, just wasn't all that hungry so I made myself a small taco salad.....with corn chips! :laughing7:

I used to buy a Dozen Donuts a week,
Eat 2 in the Morning with my Coffee for Breakfast.

Last 2 Dozen I Bought sat till they went stale
& Went out for the Birds.

This morning I Chucked Half a pound
of Cooked Ham, Nothing wrong with it
but it tasted Terrible when I tried to make a sandwich
last night.

also threw out 2 Unoped packs of Hot dogs this morning
Half a loaf of Bread, & Hoagie Buns .

Figuring I'v lost all appetite & they will just spoil anyway.

Got a Few Chocolate Chip Cookies & Sugar Cookies
in the House to snack on yet.

Few steaks in the Fridge If I Get hungry one day.

I sort of think it's the heat & Humidity

Fryed green tomato sandwich with pickles and ketchup................................

Happens to me fairly often. Usually end up eating something like tacos, fajitas or something similar. :dontknow:

Oh yeah, and a few Newcastles to wash it down.

*********THE PROBLEM IS FOOD BURNOUT********************
People have a tendicy to find something they like and pig out on it all the time until they burn out on it . They do this over and over with different foods until their burn out list covers everything in the house. then they get hungry and have nothing you want.
THE CURE is to go to the store hungry and buy every thing you like, not a list of burned out items. Variety is the spice of life! I go from Italian to Irish to Bohemian to German to Chinese style foods. Like life, make it interesting.

P.S. No snails, frog legs or gators. I've tried them and don't like them!!
Believe it or not, smoked eel was great.

Ya just ain't hungry enough . When you really get hungry everything and anything will taste good .

like a bear...you are craving protein.....arrrrrrrrrrrrrr....I like to cut open a garden fresh tomato and stuff it with tuna..sprinkled with pepper...maybe stuffed with some Jalapenos !! Yummm Yummm.

That sounds delicious TEE and I just bought 6 cans of tuna yesterday and the tomato's are ripe and ready.

Oh woe is he or she that doesn't have access to garden fresh tomatoes this time of year! Even just tomato, mayo and pepper between 2 slices of bread!!.................... :icon_thumleft: That ALWAYS sounds good to me.

never had that. sometimes i get hungry for something in particular. i don't eat a lot of candy, but sometimes i get this hankering for a snickers bar that just doesn;t away until i eat one. know some other folks who feel the same. makes you wonder what they're putting in there.

Cut it out Packer! My tomato plants shrivled up and died. To much heat, maybe to much water. First time for me. I usually am swamped with tomatoes. I love BLT's and I varry them with different dressings like Ranch or French etc.

Smudge: T!hats your body telling you what it needs!

I have tomato, mayo on toast with some fresh ground pepper all the time.

Found the recipe that TEE mentioned for tuna stuffed tomatoes and I can't wait to try them, I may have to modify it for what we have in the house but they sound delicious.

Here it is for anyone else:

yeah its hard to go shopping when hungry....especially when you find the clearance/managers special sections w/ the food they need to get rid of due to nearness of sell by date
