The zinc alloy they're made of really doesn't hold up well, yours looks relatively intact compared to what I mostly find

Very nice , would those machines work on rust and take off multiple layers? I need to find something or electrolysis
You cap gun looks like it is die-cast, so there shouldn't be much rust. Obviously has a lot of crud on it, which would loosen up a lot.

Sent this to my wife with no caption lol She thought it was real. I think it’s a 1950-60s cap gun from what I compared it too , it’s going the engravings on other side
