Took a break from field hunting and went over a friends yard.
Lots of interference from buried wires, but I managed :-\

For the first time I was able to find more then one silver in a hunt ;D

Nice going, Donny! Those are the biggest silvers I've ever seen. ;D

I hope you have more friends with yards like that!

Did you notice that I decked all three of them with the knife?
All that field hunting has made me lazy with pinpointing,
because in the field I use a shovel.

Great finds!! I'd love to know how you took such great pictures too. Was it a scanner?

I can relate to the "decking" dj.....Wide open expanse's for me too!!! Very Nice !!!

Very nice! Silver is always yummy to snatch up!

As far as the nice pictures... it isn't always just the camera. You don't need a fancy smancy expensive one... or one with mucho-mega pixels... or crazy zoom, etc. I would say most digital cameras will suffice for a nice close-up.

Take the picture from far up... don't try to get close to the coin, don't zoom, etc. Take it from a couple feet above the coin, then pop out the memory stick... throw it in your computer... and load up a program like shutterfly studio which has a zoom feature built in as well as a nice custom crop tool. Zoom in to your fancy... get some SWEET detail that you would NEVER expect from taking the picture from multiple feet away, and boom... you have a sweet shot. It really does work wonders. Oh... and before you pop out the memory stick you should make sure the picture is clear... which is easily done by going into your camera's "view" mode and THEN zooming... it will mirror the effects that a program like shutterfly studio will do... that way you don't waste time messing around with a fuzzy shut after you pop the stick out.
