I got a Matchbox car and a marble from my early days and a few other goodies that were a little before my time. Too bad the Indian Head isn't the error variety! But, it is my first IH so I like it even if it is a $3 cent instead of a $1400 cent.

Anyone know what the little house is from? Did the early Monopoly games have solid metal game pieces?

Hello Hart-IN! Welcome to T-net!!! The Indian head is sweet! I had the Monopoly game back in the early 70's and the houses were plastic then to. Where in Indiana are you located? I'm in Lowell! QUICKSILVER(appletree)

I'm in Huntington, near Fort Wayne. the Monopoly game I have has hollow metal pieces but the little house I found today is solid. If it isn't a monopoly piece, than I don't have a clue what else it might be.

It was great getting out and finding some toys from my childhood. I don't remember burying the Corvette or even why I would have buried a Corvette, but it was almost 8 inches deep. I guess it's home again.

wow, small world, I am about 30 minutes from Ft wayne!

The little house has far more detail than I remember seeing in the Monopoly pieces from way back when............

Diggem'

I just don't remember there ever being a metal house! a car, top hat, dog, that's what I remember off the top of my head! maybe it was a trinket of some sort from a gumball machine

Ohhhh I would love to hunt my childhood home!

The little metal house may be a charm from a charm bracelet.

Indiana rocks!....I'm from South Bend..Still trying to locate my first IH...I jumped from my oldest coin of a 1917 wheat to an 1812 LC...Go figure...Bring on the summer weather guys...jgas

After a good cleaning, the little house has the Parker Brother's trademark on the base, but I can't read the date. The houses and hotels in my Monopoly game are red and green plastic so I am guessing this piece is from a special edition of the game. I just sent an e-mail to Hasbro's customer service department. Maybe they will be able to tell me where this piece came from. Thanks for looking everyone.

How cool is that? Do you remember that car? Awesome IH you found..error variety or not, that's a great find. Hope there's more where that came from.

Thanks Natman, Yes, I do remember the car and the marble. I thought once you lost your marbles they were gone forever. :D I don't know why I would have buried a Corvette almost eight inches down though.

I got this one IH and one badly worn 1858 Flying Eagle cent last week plus a handfull of Wheaties and several other items from this yard including a suspender clip dated 1871 and a silver plated spoon dated 1905. Still have about 800 square feet left to search.

Nice finds :)
