Found these deep in the woods close to where a known union army encampment was.
Also an area that has been logged for 100+ years

To state the obvious, they’re spikes of some kind. Since you mention logging, they could have been used for logging mats.

That long one could be for a picket line. You got to definitely go back to that area, could be a honey hole around there

I was thinking logging mat however they would have normally had a ring attached or were flanged out to hold mat down

Newer ones (logging mats)are made with carriage bolts (or something similar) I think. Have no idea how older ones were made, but if this came from your wife’s property…..I’d bet logging for 90% of anything found in that area
