To state the obvious, they’re spikes of some kind. Since you mention logging, they could have been used for logging mats.View attachment 2167552

Newer ones (logging mats)are made with carriage bolts (or something similar) I think. Have no idea how older ones were made, but if this came from your wife’s property…..I’d bet logging for 90% of anything found in that areaI was thinking logging mat however they would have normally had a ring attached or were flanged out to hold mat down
