10 days ago we had 2ft of snow, and the temp hasn't been over 18 since. Nothing melting at that rate so guess the fun is over until spring or a heat wave. Best of luck to those who can still get out.

Snow here too, finally broke the freezing mark today for the first time in a week.

The white "stuff" is coming down here, 1-3 " today, temps in the deep freeze for next several days, and ...Saturday they are predicting "feet!" Of the white stuff! And my detecting day is...Sunday! I should just go rent a snow plow and a back hoe now....grrrrr! "#%¥+&^* snow!!!!

Just don't try to eat any of the snowflakes. December snow just isn't ripe yet. Wait 'til Jan, Feb is good. LOL
(I'm looking at the stuff too. :dontknow: )

....scout sledding hills

Snow and frozen ground up here in North Dakota also. I envy the people who live down south who can go metal detecting year round! Ill spend the next few months mapping out more old ghots towns in the area.

I just ordered a old map of my county with townships waterways railroads and plat maps. I guess I'm in research mode now for a few months.

Well guess I should have been swinging the coil this evening here in Tennessee. Went deer hunting and saw plenty of slicks and a small six but no shooters. First season in a good bit I haven't taken a good one by now. Gonna have to take a break and MD a day or two. We usually get to hunt (metal detect) most of the year. We will get a couple of small snows for the most part and the ground freeze seldom stays on over a week at a time. We only have about 3 weeks of deer season left anyway. HH:hello:

I got a bad sunburn on Sunday at the beach...from what I hear today is National "I Hate Floridians Day "

I dont hate Floridians.... but you could let me crash on your couch for free if I wanted to come metal detecting there lol

My apologies Msbeepbeep and others in the colder climates,
This is the weather I experienced today while detecting: 68º and
a scoop full of a perfect day all by myself on a southern California Beach!
The surf was like a lake and it was low tide.
Wish you were here!

I was having withdraws yesterday so I dressed warm walked out of the house and walked straight into the field close to my house. It was 4 degrees out and wind wasn't bad. I made it about a half hour and the wind picked up so I gave up. I'm use to working in the cold but couldn't make myself stay out any longer. I feel better now lol so might be able to make it a few more days till I have to get out there again. Not going to waist my time driving to other spots the stuff will still be in the ground come spring I just needed to swing detector for a bit. I know you guys understand. :)
