Going on a hunt with my son tomorrow. He's been only once and fell in love with it. Best part is, he seems to have a green thumb for finding bottles. Hope to have something to post tomorrow! Image of my recurring dream.

I thought for sure I'd see some finds posted here, any luck?

can't wait...all I have been finding lately are brokes and necks...all in my spot but still waiting for the next score.

Guys sorry to say we didn't find anything but broken pcs. We were really let down. We are hunting an area that's approximately 20 acres, ravines on both sides of the homeplace and a current home at the front of the old homeplace. I have narrowed down where the bottles are NOT. This leaves the area behind the homeplace which like i said, is roughly a 20 acre plot. The house was a doctor's home built roughly 1875. When he passed away in the early 1900's, it was turned into a boarding house. The old timers tell me it was the largest and most beautiful home in the area. Now, the problem is that this place was clearcut roughly 15 years ago and sad to say i was not enthusiastic about bottles then as i am now. I can remember old glass pcs on top of the ground while i was swinging my metal detector. My plan now is to start probing at the back of the house(where i remember seeing all the glass) and work my way out. I feel when i find the privy, it will be a bonanza. Below are broken pcs from one of the ravines we were digging yesterday.

Looks to me from the pictures that you posted that you are in the right area. Good luck, it's just a matter of time until you find them.

Thanks Surf and my Rebel friend. It is frustrating to say the least. This site is in a pine thicket with a great quality of briars and the shrubbery has a root system that is the thickest I have ever seen. I am going to stay with this location until i get the best of it or it gets the best of me.

have fun....i know you will too!

Thanks for the encouragement Unclemac

Old cliche... why they call it hunting and not finding.

I went out for a 3 tour Sunday and found nothing at all.... I do love bottles though.
