Only my fellow CRHer's could appreciate this bit of AWESOME news:
I've been banking with a small bank for many years. The service was outstanding until they got bought by a small regional bank, and then the service and small town, family-style feel went by the wayside.
Service there has gotten so bad that I've been toying with closing my accounts there. The only advantage to keeping this bank is that I can dump small amounts of coinage every so often. They have a coin counter behind the teller counter.
They are never happy when I dump halves on them, and often get sighs and real eye rolling from these tellers. It is not a bad place to dump $200 in dimes, and maybe $100 in halves, but only if I am desperate to dump, and I've tried not to dump more than once a month there.
I hadn't dumped any coin at this branch since late April, and when I walked in today:
They have a brand new coin counter sitting in the lobby!!!!!!
This will be up and running this coming week!!!!!!!!
Dumping is seriously hard to do in this small town, especially if you have more than $200 in halves.
Currently, I have 3 dump banks...this one will make number 4...and it is literally about 3 blocks from my house. I've been carefully rotating each dump bank so I don't burn any of them out.
Even better, this means that the long standing rumor "that all of our branches will have counters in the lobby" is no longer hearsay, but actual truth. This will expand my ability to dump by about 40 branches, even though there are only 7 branches within a 15 mile drive.
Man, am I ever excited!!!!!!!
Thank you for letting me share....
