Went out around the yard and over to the school playground
Its been really nasty lately here, but the sun is out today, and hopefully the mud goes away. I can't believe I am actually finding money!yeah! Hopefully in the near future, I can hit a few spots I am researching and find some old ones.

Sounds like you and I are on the same page...I have been sticking to tot lots in order to get my technique down.

What part of TX do you live in? I am in Oklahoma, but I travel down to Seagoville, TX once a month for Army Reserve drill.

Now,go back and look under the park bench, second one on the left ;D
Good keepers,I just wish I could get out, weather is way to nasty for me. :(

Nice digs, keep on digging they get better and better or least more and more !! ;D

I live in Mcallen it is right on the Mexico border, I use to live in Corpus :'( I miss it!

the bullets were not in the school yard, but in our yard, which up until a couple years ago were nothing but orange groves. We bought our house in July, and there was a field behind it, we did not move in until Jan. and instead of a field it was Condos, talk about being shocked.

Kudos TKG......no pull tabs is even better...lol. Keep it up....good luck.

txk, give it time, you will find the old stuff. It took me over a year to find a wheatie and longer to find silver.

Took me about a year to find silver. I was finding wheaties, but that was because I lived in a house that was built in 1927, and I didn't find any silver in my yard. Toward the end of the year I did find a Buffalo Nickel and a V there though. It was a good learning process to totally exhaust a site little by little. Just as much as it was a great learning process for pinpointing accuracy to work in the parks and get good at it--didn't want to make a mess in people's yards.

All the Best,

Buckleboy

The big gold class ring I found last summer was with my ACE 250. It bounced back and forth between a nickel and a pull tab. Since then I always dig those "iffy" signals. Monty

Try this...do just a few minutes research and find out the age of the various schools in your area, and spend time hunting the schoolyards of the older ones. You'll stillfind clad, but your odds of finding that first silver will greatly increase!
When you're working the older schools, try to work the "fringe" areas and smaller grass strips right near the building and parking areas. These are sometimes overlooked by the other detectorists that may have been there before you.

GL and HH!

Yep, you can always tell when your in Texas when you start digging up assorted slugs and bullets! Great digs! HH!

Yep. I would definitely be digging those pulltab signals if you are looking to find a ring. I know the ones I have found lately have bounced between that nickel and penny rang where a zillion pulltabs are found.

It's pretty obvious that Monty and I use the same detector. Thats where mine reads 10 karat for the most part. 14k tends to bounce from penny down a notch? MAybe I need to find an 18 k for comparison!

Best of luck on your digs.

Now that just aint right....No Pull Tabs lololol. congrats and happy hunting girl.

I threw my wedding rings on the ground yesterday and hit them with the MD, guess what it shows as a nickel, so for sure I will dig all nickels!

I was digging a penny yesterday at about 2" when my little boy ran over and handed me a penny he had seen in the neighbors drive way. Maybe I should start showing him rings and gold coins...heee heee

It will come soon Did you get a county history book yet

You know why your not finding pull tabs?

Some lucky person beat you to them. ;D
