I couldn't get any pics this morn, so video & pics from WWW will have to do. Gosh, the birds are beautiful and the soaring is fun to watch. Last summer was the 1st time ever seeing these birds, so I had to do a research to find out what they were. LSU was conducting a survey to see where, when you spotted the birds. In fact, one day coming home I noticed what I thought was buzzards circling the sky, as I got closer I realized it was the swallow-tailed kite and had to pull off the road just to watch em.

We have small Swallows around here with the forked tail, and so dark that they look black with no other
color. That is a nice shot. Makes you wonder how they can guide themselves with such a big fork out
of their tail. There is not much to catch the air. LOL. He's a pretty bird.
