I couldn't resist

I thought that I would go back to the old site I was hunting at last week for one more lookyloo.
Not much to see but I did get one more copper.

This one will be a prime candidate for a peroxide bath followed by a thorough rosebush thorning, then a big dip in olive oil followed by some sandpapering. Probably leave it in the mineral oil for a week or two then further preserve it with salt and vinegar or reduced lemon juice. Then it'll be off to a third party conservationist for grading and slabbing and then it should bring HUGE bux!

wish me luck

What coin is that iron horse?

I found a somewhat similar looking half penny recently, but yours is different.

Your cleaning techniques interest me. :laughing7:

Nice find, man.

I knew you couldn't resist getting out after a taste of diggin some old dirt...I use similar cleaning procedures with a acid bath...

I knew that, I know you've had great success with electrolysis on delicate coppers too ;)

Do we hold our breaths for the out come on this treatment. Looks like a nice 1815 Genuine British Copper Token-priceless in the restored condition?

BTW

worth about the same as a jar of $2 bills

I would have went back too.
You had a lot of targets last time, forgot to mention how nice the seal "handle" was.
Seems you did a pretty good job cleaning that place out last time there.

I can see most all the detail as is right from the ground, with the dirt and all, you may not need all that treatment, just saying.

Very nice fellow Canadian!

Neat coin - CONGRATS! On reading your description of steps you'll go thru to clean up & preserve it, I hereby nominate you TOP GOURMET CHEF OF COINS! :notworthy:

I have lots to learn about when to clean & how to do it. Looking forward to more of your finds. Andi

G-olden years, thank you your observation is second to none

Bon appetite

Don't forget the ketchup!

Everyone knows that me and relic cleaning don't really go together, a little splash of h2o was all it needed, and all it's ever going to get

all it got on the pic was spit and a gentle rub

nice find Bender congrats HH
