I have crushed before but never found any gold - but finally found some.
Crushed a rock the size of the one in picture to power (minus 30 mesh) and it held what is shown. So I got excited -- not so sure this is a good thing as I was drywashing
when I found the rock -- next time I went I was looking at every dam rock and slowed the whole process down.

But it has opened a new door to my fever.

Cheers to all and Merry Christmas

Mike

its easy to get side tracked, looking at all the different rocks.good job ,merry christmas

That be some lyrics to a good Country & Western tune with a happy ending.

I crushed a quartz rock and found me some gold,
but then I crushed before but never did find gold

Nice. I have a rock I've always wondered about. Several things going on with it. I'm sure it's probably all pyrite though.

It looks most likely to be the copper mineral Chalcopyrite. Chalcopyrite is the main ore of copper.

Yep one sure can sing this tune from day to day. Can not get it out of my head though.

You may want to try a pin pointing type of metal detector. There are a number of supporting venders of this forum to take a look at.

Just a tip:
Try GPS the location first then fan out to see if you can spot more of the same type of rock out from there. I would strongly suggest my up in the air detecting process away from any mineralized background method.
