I dug this stuff in the woods on a private property (I have permission) east of Houston. I don't know what a lot of it is but the land owner says the property was once an old lumber farm. I also found lots of ammo stuff. Pretty cool but no coins or anything shiny. I am new to this and have yet to dig anything shiny but I sure am loving playing in the dirt! My hands are so sore I can barely pop open a beer without help but I eat some ibuprofen and keep on digging! 20131205_185953-1.webp20131205_194902-1.webp

Don`t worry that 705 will find lots of shiny stuff and deep too....nice looking old hoe head in the first picture, nice relics.

Good hunt you had, Diggity. I take home lots of iron stuff too, If I didn''t like collecting and displaying iron relics, I wouldn't be as enthusiastic at MD'ing as I am.
The "shiny stuff" and non-ferrous finds will come, and You'll probably make occasional cool bottle finds as well. Happy Hunting

I like to find stuff like that. I dig it all most of the time. Love hunting relics.

I love relics too. Especially when I can figure out what and how old they are.

Looks like a great day of finds to me! G.A.P. is right.....that Xterra 705 will find you alot of really good stuff. It's an awesome detector, and the more you use it, the better the finds get. Good haul you got there......

Sometimes I dig iron that isn't even there anymore. It's just hardened clumps of rust that send my detector ghost signals begging me to dig.

lol--looks like you were busy...

you choose the correct name ....diggetydog!!!!

Good job [ the old hoe head is nice] as GAP said plus I recycle all iron ,once I'm pretty sure it's just junk, heck I like to find un-fired bullets esp, rifle rds, & when digging all that iron and 22 cases you will def , dig some good stuff once you get the coil over it. Best of luck .. Davers

Good work diggy, keep on digging!

I love old iron stuff myself! Nice batch of farm finds! Here is a photo showing what I think some of your stuff may be:

You were really busy digging! That's a lot! Yep, iron tells the history! While silver remains a mystery.

I love the iron! It's usually the cool old things many detectors have left behind with a few coins under them. Nice finds!

Heck. those loaded shells are worth their weight in gold today. I like finding functionable ammo. Great finds

That long thing on the left of the hoe with two might be a civil war gun nipple wrench. Has two holes in it.
