I ended the large cent slump with a toasted blacksmith copper

Man the field I've been hunting is huge, I've spent more time in it than most others that I hunt.
Well it Finley gave up this CT /Thanks, IP correction Black smith copper a 1894 Indian some wheat cents and assorted odds and ends.
That style of watch winder is a first for me there always round.
It's knocking the edge off for a bit !! thanks for looking HH :icon_thumright:

The line I circled matches perfect so i should change my lead in title to blacksmith copper?

Don't think so, looks like a good match for the blacksmith. If you click the link and read the info. I also believe that it's probably an Evasion copper... and that would most likely date it in the George III copper/ CT range. (but no one really knows for sure what they are)

In a way it's too bad because it's probably the most common blacksmith, but it being common is part of the mystery of what it is exactly, so it's cool in that sense. My friends and I have never found a blacksmith, but believe the competition has a couple, so there is still a chance. I'd definitely rather dig one of those I could ID, than a CT I couldn't.... and some Blacksmith coppers I'd much rather dig than many CTs which I could ID.
