Hey all,

Just posting on here before heading off to bed. I've got work in the morning and a box of halves coming my way tomorrow when I get off work. Here's to hoping I find something good. Searched a box last week and only found 3 keepers (78D, which I needed for my book; a 2005D and a 2008D), but this week at work in my register I've found a silver quarter (1964D), a silver dime (1952D), a silver nickel (1945P), and about 5 wheaties, and one 1974S penny (I live on the east coast, lol). Wish me luck tomorrow, I just might need it!

Well it's because of location. In California, I would expect to see 80% of coinage being from San Francisco mint.

Not really, since modern coinage is only P and D.

I've never thought about the percentage before, but I looked up at the mintage figures for S mint and they are quite lower than of Philly or Denver.
This might be the reason.

Nowadays only proofs are minted in San Fransico, and in small numbers. Many are rare as soon as they leave the mint.
