This was an eye find from an 1800 homestead site. I found it lodged in a dirt bank. It's large and a little heavy. There seems to be symmetrical line around it, but very faded in places. I'll try to get a better picture of the lines.

Any info would be great seeing as I know Nothing about marbles......

Enjoy

Thanks Duffy I understand from reading a lot of other posts that your the resident expert on marbles. Is there anything I can do to preserve and/or enhance the stripes ?

no dont think so...look at it with a black light...that might bring the colors out...the design looks helix.....on some glass marbles puttin them in a shot glass of water and lookin down through the top enhanses the colors....if your gonna keep it you could put the mib on a turntable and trace the colors with colored pencils lightly and see what it would look like...its glazed so anything you do to it wouldnt premeat the glaze so it would come off...
