ART: Here are the results I had from doing the exercise you sent. IN ALL PHASES OF THIS EXERCISE, EVERYTHING HAPPENED EXACTLY AS YOU SAID IT WOULD. 
When I baited my rods with a Penney, my rods crossed over the Penney only. With no Penney on the end, it crossed over all items (All metal mode you might say). In the last phase, using one rod was new to me and something I have not done before.
In the past when I dowsed, both rods were pointed forwards. The rod in my right hand is the one that always starts moving first and it has always moved to the left, never to the right. After it has moved to the left a little ways, I start to turn left also. I can usually tell how far away the target is by how fast the rods are turning.
