I love finding buttons! It was very warm again here today so I went out next door to the pasture. This is the same place I found that great little buckle last month. Hunted for about two hours and ended up with half a horseshoe, some lead, other misc stuff and a great little button! I don't know if it's military or civilian, so if anyone has a clue, please..do tell! It's a tad smaller than a quarter, has a starburst with N C in the middle. There is nothing on the back...looks like it was from a two piece button. It was/is very cruddy and was very difficult to get any sort of picture quality. Hope ya can see some of the details. :)

Nice button Nanna! ;D Being a Yankee by birth I've been slowing finding my roots in the low country of South Carolina. When reading a civil war book written by Gordon Reah I discovered a long lost relative Lt. Charles T. Haigh lead a charge for the south near the north Anna River and was instantly killed. He was a an Confederate officer in the North Carolina Calvery. Cream43
