Well, three quarters of one anyway! ;D I saw this older looking school building this evening on my way home from a job in a neighboring town. I had a little while before dark and my detector in back seat so I said to myself, what the hay! I only detected a couple of minutes along the grassy strip between the school and the curb where I was parked and got a loud hit on my Cibola. I cut a plug ( it wasn't very deep) and first thought it was some kind of scrap metal :laughing9: but after washing it off with some bottled water from the truck I realized it was a MORGAN DOLLAR!!!!!! An 1897-O. It looks like it had a close encounter with a lawn mower :laughing7:

I searched a few minutes more hoping to find the "other quarter" but to no avail :( only can slaw.
Must have been a very powerful lawn mower!
My first real (not a fake) found Morgan dollar.

What a great find and a shame at the same time!! I'm willing to bet the rest of it is within a 30 foot radius of where you found the main part. Very cool find, nonetheless.

A little glue and duct tape and she'll be as good as new! Does it qualify as AG (almost good)?
