I found this on Lake Ontario beach near fort niagra

One day we where at the beach camping near fort niagra and my brother was in the water and the triped over something. He pulled it out of the water and said to me if you want it you can have it. I have no idea what it is and how it got to the beach. I think it may have came from a shipwreck reck from the war of 1812 or something like that. If you know what this is let me know it could be vary rare.
