Possibly a letter opener ???

Neat find.

I agree looks like a old letter opener. Reshape the tip of it.

Picture of you looks fine but you'd think you'd be smiling with Goober wannabe's and other Mayberry characters around :P The mountain is more impressive than I had imagined. I bought a book a while back on North Carolina gemstones and have wanted to go there ever since. Good luck diggin' :-*

Actually i was a little pissed about the rain lol

I have one also and it is a letter opener. Mine was made in the 1950's. Congrats on your find. Burdie

Please dont mention rain again as we are getting dumped on tonight and tomorrow with a possible dry window on Sunday. I guess I'll have to do research instead of hunting. >:(. But if I get that dry window, you can bet I'll be swingin'. Smashing Pumpkin season is coming.

Don't I know about the rain, had a place all picked out to go to today,Oh Well, another day.You were in Mayberry today? Another 20 minutes up the mountain and you are in my drive way.You and your hubbie coffee drinkers? Give me a yell ( it's OK,I'm used to it )

Yeah we were up there for Mayberry Days ! ;D And i have to say that all the actors that played the Andy Griffith Show characters looked a GREAT deal like them ! LOL that is all except the Andy one :-\ .The Barney one acted just like him ! ;D ;D very neat

It could be just a carved trinket sold from some import store or it could be a fetish (Voodoo) item. There's a small but growing American Voodoo cult especially in our larger cities.

One way these are used is the fetish is left in a conspicuous place so that someone will find it. Once it's found and taken the curse is complete. It has nothing to do with you so don't worry about it. I've written about this whole thing before on here.

In this case it's most likely just a trinket.

Interesting find.

I found it in a very inconspicuous place .Looks like someone used it and when it broke they pitched it out a window and it landed right in between the wall and a crevasse it had junk on top of it when i happen to see its head. The town i found it in is certainly not a large city its a very very small town ;D The building was built in the 1920's

Also the am figuring it had a clear coat on it at one time, thats how it survived so long out there.(1950's ? or older ) ???

;) Looks like African Art to me! Voodoo? I always heard Aunt Bee was a Priestess & Performed Human Sacrifices at the "Garden Club"!
