The owner of the fields where I hunt came to see me today. He has cut all of his corn down and harvested it. He says I can hunt the parts that are empty. I asked if he owned the land across from the other field and he said yes. :laughing7: I then asked him if I could hunt that part and he said yeah thats fine 8-).
So now I have some virgin land to hunt!
But now I have to choose and this is where you guys and gals come in.
Do I hunt the creek?
Do I hunt the new field?
Do I hunt the field from last year?
I can hunt all of these but winter is coming soon and the creek will be out till next summer when it gets cold.
I can hunt the new field but the cover crop goes down in 2 weeks for the winter and will grow fast with the rains.
I can hunt last yrs fields but have already did all of them last yr and it didnt get plowed since.
So whats the answer? Im only 1 person and its allot of land.
Thanks, rock

I hope there is a bull in that scenario somewhere.
I may rethink my next glass of milk.

you bet your sweet .... they will.

WOW! I am glad I didnt try to climb the fence. I drove by there yesterday just to see how much rain had fallen. There was water standing every where. I did try to get permission to hunt but the owner said no due to the rain. He said it would just be too wet. He is afraid I will get stuck in the mud. I have been stuck many times in my life and I have always gotten out. Red clay is a tough one to get stuck in but I always get back out in a few hours. I have never had to be towed.

Rock, You are one lucky person with soooo many options. I would choose the creek 1st. Hope you find glorious treasures.. :) kat

I plan on going back just as soon as the water is clear again. When it rains the water turns redish brown. It takes a week to clear up. This creek flows north instead of south. Not many creeks or rivers flow north most go south. It was a ancient mans highway and any creek that flowed north was a great find for them to be able to go back home if they had come from the north and traveled south.

Sounds like my area, everything turns red-brown with no visibility for a week or so. Gotta love that red clay!

Every time you post I swear you are in my spot! The Lithic types in both our areas are so identical it is unreal. Even the design of the tools you post look alike.

Northern Georgia about an hour from Tn and east from Ala

I'll have to check out a map. I'm about 25 mile NW of Nashville, maybe 15 miles off I-65 right before you cross over to KY.
