I found it the first month I started metal detecting - by chance I came upon it.... I am more of a metal detecting type person, but this dump has been on my mind for a few years now.

The area it's at has a known history going back to 400 years or so. The dump is really big, and contains several mounds spread out through a tract of woods for quite a ways. There are literally piles of bottles of all different colors and shapes. I imagine there is far more than just bottles at this site, but it just seems such an overwhelming task to undertake all by myself. I wonder where would I even begin?

So, I guess I just need a few words of encouragement from you bottle gurus. Should I go for it?!?! ???

I'm not a bottle guru but I'd be glad to help!

Can you pick up a few samples and post pics? I'm just over the bridge in Pa. if you need any help.

How far is Mount Holly from NYC? If the area dates to colonial times you may have some serious finds at the bottom of that dump. You might organize a Tnet dig. If you get enough people involved you might be able to clean the place out completely.

oh course you must why even ask ? ;D

Go for it! Some bottles are worth a pretty penny.

Testing, testing, any bottle digging happen out there??
