I’ll looked at some of the errors And for some reason I think there’s something special about this nickel. If you know more than me I would love that and if I was chasing up a pipe dream let me know the truth LOL it’s just a gut feeling Which isn’t always right

To me it looks like its been through the surf or been in contact with some chemical.......I'm sure the smarter people will give you a definitive answer.

Its just highly corroded.

It may have been near a more noble metal in water. Silver or Copper will use Nickle as an anode. Or some acid (like nitrate in lawn or farm fertilizer forming nitric acid).

I’m going to look through the error. I don’t know why I can’t put this nickel there I will find out if it’s good it ain’t leaving my hand if it’s bad I’m going to pitch it on my neighbors roof

We don’t have salt water here we have natural streams I guess our freshwater. People used to come from New Orleans and go to Abita Springs because Between the pine royal and the pure water it was a considered for all sorts of cures

It looks like it's been through a coin tumbler after having been dug up.

Some sort of damage for sure, nothing in the minting process could account for it. The eroded surfaces are a giveaway.

Since 1963 that nickel could have been many places. I would say fertilizer or surf. I have a can full of coins like that. It's still 5cents!!

I know very little about coins but even I know you're looking at PMD for sure. I think your neighbor's roof is about to be worth 5 more cents.

Drill a hole through it an put it on a key chain. Maybe it'll be a good luck charm for future detecting finds.

Modern nickels are worth more than 5 cents today. Hard for any other modern coin beside the copper cent to make that claim.
