I have a question about the Nokta gold kruzer

So I’ve just started using the gold kruzer out in the mountains in Oregon. There is known gold here. Mostly really small stuff, but a few nuggets are getting pulled out too. I understand when using the kruzer that when you hit a hot rock, the meter rises on the mineralization bars. But when you get past the hot rock, the bars stay up on the minimization so I don’t know if I’m hitting gold or another hot rock. Any way to make that go down quicker or am I missing something?
