Last night I introduced my 9 year old grandson to the joys of coin roll hunting after buying him 6 rolls of pennies. He pulled out two wheats and was thrilled. So was I. I bought him his own collection container and we are avidly awaiting the next purchase of pennies.
While searching a box of nickels today, I pointed out the way to spot war nickels was the mint mark on the back. He was busily looking thorough a roll at the time as I was explaining it to him. Mind you, I had almost finished the box which was looking like it would be a skunk. As soon as I finished telling him about the mint mark, he said " You mean like this?" and pointed to a coin which turned out to be a '43. He is an excellent coin hunting buddy and I am looking forward to many more fun finds.
