Hey hey diggers!

Looks like snow and cold weather coming so this might be it for 2023 detecting in Dirtyville.
We started the year with a new site and ended it too with a new site.
The new cut-coin site is one of those places you leave asking questions. All my coins were cut for small change or on their way...even the full coin was scored for chopping, I initially thought it was a common plough hit but it was an intentional bend on the cutline.

Going to have to return in the spring for a follow up hunt to get to the bottom of this.
I could only fully id one piece...an 1816 Montreal halfpenny token.
Anyway it's been a fun ride this year with lots of cool finds.

Getting any cut coppers out my way is rare.
Well done on the recoveries, makes one wonder why there was so many.

Can you imagine making change that way? Cumbersome to say the least. And likely not reproduceable, so every piece would be a little different. Who would accept that? I hope you do gain more insight into the situation during further exploration.
