3" Long, 1" Dia. Main housing seems to be cast--non-magnetic.
I'm thinking maybe an engine/tractor part(?) but I was never much of a gearhead.
Lensing came up zero.

I agree with you.
Looks like it is brass. I think a wooden handle would have been inserted into the receptacle at one end and the pins used to hold it. The other end was attached to a brass rod which was broken off where it attached to this item. So likely a handle attachment from a piece of farm equipment.

ARC has it with the axle and cut-out for the wheel. No question about it.

It looks like some sort of tightener/turnbuckle, definitely brass. The pointy end had threaded steel in it at some point, the two pieces/links on the back remind me of a piece of chain link (think garage door opener, bicycle chain, or chainsaw chain)….however having something brass in the middle of that type of chain doesn’t make sense. So going with some sort of turnbuckle.

OP said 3 inches long and 1 inch diameter. I think ARC has it but will wait for more. And just based on more common finds like casters versus drill parts.

Did a crop of your picture to show what you are talking about and to make it easier for people to see the part. Plus added the OPs picture to allow a side by side comparison.

BTW great ID there......!

Reminds me a little bit of a barrel nut for a gate tightener/straightener.
I'm not sure what that is, but there are no threads on this that I can see. IDK about the narrow end; I think whatever went into it was steel and it's plugged solid.

Wheel... err whats left of one.... err "caster"
That may be. I thought the scallops were broken out, but closer inspection suggests they're cutouts.

IMO, this is way cooler than an engine part or a caster.

Thanks again to everyone. 😁
