Metal Detecting
Last weekend was a first with the San Francisco Fire Department badge. Today I dug a sterling silver dog tag! in 35 years of metal detecting I've dug up
162 dog tags, but never one in sterling silver!

Another first today was a brass sword that measures 8 inches in length.

The area I'm hunting is about 1 mile long with lots of ivy and weeds. It's a challenge swinging the coil through it, i'ts always getting tangled in the coil and shaft.

Also dug some early date wheaties, ( 1911-s, 1917-s, and 1919-s among them. A 1936-S buffalo nickel would top off the day.

Beautiful dog tag - congrats! Are you digging in a dog cemetary?

I remember 5 digit phone numbers in the 1960's; can't remember the letter prefixes.
