I don't go on Amazon much..But I have noticed the increase in shipping has hurt lower priced items for me. It doesn't seem like much..but when your adding in the increase and the little extra to cover Ebays 10% on shipping. It makes a difference. I usually use small priority flat rate. May not have any effect on what your seeing on amazon, it was just something that came to mind when thinking of Ebay and the recent increase in shipping.

I'm still learning with shipping! I just mailed an Item that I didn't think ahead on......That sale actually cost me money after shipping and fees! :laughing7: oooops!!

The Item was around $13 bucks, I charged $5 for shipping thinking I'd pick up the difference. Well, weight put it in the $14 range and after fees? I should have just thrown the stuff in the trash!:laughing7: That's just one of my many recent mistakes not thinking when someone makes an offer and I hit the accept offer!:laughing7:

The price increases I've noticed are temporary. Come Monday the prices drop back down. I've noticed this several times.

Ohh! I see what your saying, they are raising prices on the busy times then dropping back on the slower times to catch both ends? And to get more during high traffic times?

Hmmmmm..... I'd never noticed this. This is good info to know, I'll do all my Azon shopping on weekdays.

Our gas stations down here do the same thing! >:(
Weekends gas is always a few cents more. It mattered more when gas was $4 a gal. :laughing7:

I hate seeing a low ball price, only to have to click, to find an over inflated shipping price. :BangHead:
Any Amazon, will be during the week for me, too. :laughing7:

Glad I was able to give you guys a heads up on this. I got burned last weekend on a set of speakers. I don't think it happens on every item but I'm going to be very vigilant about when I make my purchases now.

Hey dram, if you paid with c/c, you may be able to argue the price difference.
Hey, if you could have saved $10 - $50 bucks or more, by waiting till Monday to order, vs a Friday/Saturday, tell them you WOULD have!
If you paid with Paypal, point out Amazons' price practice to them, I thought I saw them advertise somewhere, they would honor lower prices and refund some funds to you. I can't be exactly certain, but check it out. Still may can save some $$$$'s.

Thanks Patcat, I'm going to check this out. I lucked out when I bought the radio as it was on a week day. It was almost a twenty dollar difference! I'm a huge Amazon fan but this does get under my skin a bit.

Ive noticed that for a long time but only realized how it worked when I started to do FBA (which I have been slacking on).
No matter how many experts say stick with your price, Being competitive is half the game on Amazon. Unless no one will list more of them and you can wait it out, priced drop until the smart suppliers are left and prices level back out. Once someone sells out at a lower price, those who previusly matched that price are now free to raise them. Once a new seller lists items, the cycle can start over. It is a huge pain in the --- as a seller. I think there are programs that automatically do it too.

Thanks for stopping in and giving us some insight to this. I think your right, there must be automatic programs for this. Definitely seems to happen like clock work.

How have you been making out going full time?
Good I hope!

I don't know what you're shipping or selling i mean but if I can be a little bit of assistance, I'm not an expert however I have over 4000 feed back on eBay. And take this with a grain of salt if you will just want some advice.. If it can go first class send it first class. Probably 85% to 90% of my monthly sales go in a padded envelope flipped over and Tapped and items wrapped in newspaper. If not I use a 4 x 4 box or 6 x 4 box and mail as much stuff as I can first class. I use priority mail when it costs over $100. I have had one problem and I had to refund somebody in the last 7 years. I use signature confirmation if it's $200 or over. I insure It if it's $250 or over. Unless it's going to an apartment. Then I will do signature confirmation on anything $150 and up going to an apartment.

But that kind of varies a little bit if it's Jewelry, Which alot of my stuff is. Anything heavy goes FedEx smart post. Way cheaper! Takes longer but I've had no complaints so far! Sorry for the rambling hope that wasn't too confusing. It makes sense to me LOL.

Amazon prices change hourly. My brother has been running a business on there for years. They can throw up any number at any time only so many left in stock. Prices will go up on how the seller wants. His stock gets low he raises the prices.

If any of you are a Prime member please remember this. If you buy something off Prime today at 50.00. Within 7 days it is selling on Prime at 35.00. Just drop them an email and they will refund the difference. No questions or hassles.
