I made a coin tumbler today

was tinkering around with an idea i had, it avctually works too,
just cant fill it too much or the motor would burn out, but the thing
spins pretty good.

I always wanted to rig something up with a variable speed Dremil Tool.

use walnut shell or pecan shells to tumble the coins with, anything harder than this will lower the value of the coins big time.

Unless you are just cleaning to cash in.

well, as i suspected, I did burn out the motor. But for a prototype, it worked pretty good. I got 3 hours out of that old razor. So now im off to find one of my old cordless screwdrivers or drills i have laying around. at leaste the containers work good. those vending machine styrophoam fishing worm containers seem to be the ticket. they`ll prob move this topic to its appropriet place, so if and when they do ill keep you all posted.

that was interesting with the mayonase jar, we have more durable motors in the shed. I like my concept with the removable container on rollers, but whatever works i guess.

Tumblers can be made of many things. For large rocks and raw copper (etc.) use a smaller electric cement mixer.

Great idea. When you build a new one, take the old one and bury it in a park. Then wait to see how long someone shows up here and asks what it is they found.
