Recovered a couple more good targets in the iron at the old "Buckle Field". Haven't had too much luck there recently, just old iron junk. Nuts, washers, bolts, and nails. Took out the Manitcore for a spin, hadn't had it out in a while. Been using the WS6 Master with HF2 coil. The Manticore kicked butt again while swinging low and slow with recovery set at 7. There were nails in the hole with the bell. The whiffletree ends were right in the mix of iron signals above and adjacent. Was using the M9 coil. I only had one-way signals on these, when I turned, I only heard the iron. The "other" way, bam loud high tones. I figured these were going to be more iron, but those high tones were just too good to pass up.

The bell and two Whiffletree ends were about 4-5 inches deep. I normally run it at 4 and feel I can get 9-11 inches in good conditions.

Nice recovery on the bell. Low and slow in the heavy iron seems to be the answer.

Thanks for the info. My sites are heavily iron infested. I feel like I'm loosing a ton of depth if I run higher than 5 but I guess if you can't seperate it to find it depth wouldn't matter anyway

Do you have the M8 coil? I've found with the M8 you can run lower recovery and still get good separation. Depth is pretty good on the M8 too.

I have the M9. Do you think it's worth buying the M8?

For my situation the M8 was worth the cost. I use it as a specialty tool; I take it in when all else fails to find good targets in the iron. I have found many good items with it.
