This was dug up on private property near a battle field in Tupelo, Mississippi. We aren't sure exactly what it is or what type of metal it is made of. All sides of it are perfectly smooth and the only identifing marks on it read "R 9 2". The bottom of it is slightly angeled like it has been hand made. We also found numerous bullets, mini balls, a lead solider, and what we think are rifle sights. I have also included a picture of the sights so we can confirm that is what they are. One of the sights read "PAT# AUG. 23 1881 OCT. 24 1882". The other sight is complete flat/smooth on both sides. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The first item is a brush from an electric motor.

The "rifle sights" are not rifle sights. Not sure what they are though. Looks like maybe one side of a book clasp.

So im guessing no one else has any ideas on what these objects may be?
Your 4th pic is of poor quality, so that makes it tougher to ID but I will try. A lot of patents issued those days. The patent items look like some kind of hinge. Are they broken? Do you think they could have mated together at one time?

First one is a starter brush from a gm starter ,delco 10mt type. If it says r97 or if the last number is not a 7 it still is definitely a starter brush just a different type, still gm.
