I need help with this old button and a "what the heck is it"....Please

I found these 2 items at the lake yesterday while hunting a swimming area below an old house across the cove from a tire swing. If you can help identify these.... please, please, please do.

I think the broken piece with the two holes is part of a spur. As far as the button, if you can clean up the back and see if there is any writing, that would help.
