I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

I hit the old property with the stone chimney again today, but most of these finds were lower on the hill where another house once sat alongside a wagon path. There are four huge old oaks right next to it.
Nothing too exciting, but any help on these whats-its would be greatly appreciated.
The decorative piece I currently have listed in the "what is it" section. Colonial or Victorian? :dontknow:
Thanks for looking.

Oh yeah, I detected in the woods for a few hours and come out with "0" ticks. Yeah Baby! :hello2: :tongue3:

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

the pic with the fork is a wrench but thats about all i can tell ya, the shotgun shell looks way bigger than a 12 gauge and ive never seen one thats all metal back before they used plastic i know they used paper but metal, thats new to me
awesome finds by the way

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

its a 10 gauge we used to use a 10 for geese back in the day

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

Shotshells were first developed in the late 1860's. All brass were available right off the bat and continue to be available up to present.

Your 10 Gauge headstamp indicates manufacture prior to 1890. Its an old one! :icon_thumright:

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

I wholeheartedly agree that you need serious psychological help-LOL. I told you my guess for the second pic via email. Let's see if anyone agrees with us. The wrench looks like a buggy wrench. I found the larger version in VA and it was identified as a wagon wrench. Nice finds MM-those vines didn't get tangled with your coil did they? HH, Q.

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

your 10 ga shell is a Union Metallic Co shell, later part of Remington. It could have been made anywhere from 1868 until the early 20th century. Solid brass shotshells are still being made today, but are not at all very common now.

Nice finds. As far as serious help I think you are beyond help. Good luck this weekend. You don't know how bad I want to be there.

Thanks Q.
I'm trying to get help, but no shrink will let me on their couch. :tongue3: :dontknow:
Those d-mn vines (periwinkle) kept hooking my coil. Hard to swing in there, but there are a lot of signals. By the way, I forgot to mention. On my very first target by those trees, I went to dig and a Black Snake came slithering by! :o Glad it wasn't a poisonous snake at least. I heard they taste like chicken. :laughing7:

It's not too late. Did I mention I will be grilling steaks, and there will be prizes too.
I hope you two surprise us. :icon_thumleft:

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its

Never thought i'd say this about a shotgun shell but thats one id like for the collection as well have never seen one. I found a live (plastic 12g) one once chewed on by an animal the rest are just annoying to find

Re: I NEED SERIOUS HELP - Lot's of whats-its
