I need some advice from the Tnet Family...Off Topic.

Well, in my mind, if you've tried to do woodworking, then you must have some interest in it. You don't have to be a master carpenter to make money with it. You can start by making picnic tables, yard decorations, dog houses, bird houses, etc... and work up to nicer and better things. I have tools, almost everything you can need. I make my living with them. Tools are probably my most important possessions, for without them I would lose my other possessions but with them I can make much of what I need, including a lively-hood. There are a lot of folks out there who know how to use them and can work wonders with them, but they don't have their own. Advertise for someone like that to partner with you and make some items while you learn. With tools, you can make as much or little as you decide. You can work when and where you decide, and for whom and on what, and possibly work as your medical situation allows. You have an opportunity to become self-reliant. Some people are cut out for it, others are better off working for someone else. Think about it hard, because you probably won't ever find yourself with the makings of a small business in your possession again. Also, what you do with what you're given is noted by others who may give to you in the future. It may influence "what", or even "if" they decide to give you when their time comes.

Sorry for your loss. Most of what you have said about the tools seems to relate to a hobby shop, most woodworking tools today are pretty high tech, even my hobby type tools are computerized Please don't get offended by the offers you will receive These were your grandads treasures I truely think he left you these to continue the trill of creating something.

I got to go along with Cheese. I have built tables and and chairs for my art gallery, in fact I have built My entire house doing all the work myself with basic tools like a table saw and handcircular saw plus a drill/screwgun. I also used a nail gun and brad gun, but they were basic tools . You really only need the computerized tools for large production. I even enjoy using hand carving tools to make a unique design. The trick is not to compete with the big boys, but to make short run or custom items. Even the picnic tables are simple to make and sell in the spring. Make small deals with small store owners so they will have something unique that is made in the USA Frank
