Today I hunted an old park and for the first few hours only found newer coins. I then decided to hunt another area of the park where there were some big old trees. I was soon rewarded with a high flutey signal. I dug about 5 or 6 inches and found a 1905s Barber Dime. Silver number one for me this year. Soon I got another promising signal not too far from where I found that old dime. I dug down about 8 inches and found an ornate silver thimble. The inside said "STERLING". Under that was a five-point star and the number 8. I figure that thimble might be as old as that dime. Pretty exciting finds!
Here are my finds (minus the trash I also dug)
