That is rare, is the base flat or concave? Mystery artifact, I have heard some wild theories as to what cones were used for.
No problem bro. I have a piece that I have always called a hammer stone. It looks similar to the one above, but no where near as nice. What would you guys call this?

Nice looking Cone rock. If you can get that at a reasonable price it would be worth your while to pick it up. They are rare artifacts indeed.
Here are two I own. The Hematite one is a personal find from a field that also gave up some Hematite Celts and Adz. The hardstone on I got at a flea market believe it or not for $25 because the guy had no idea what it was. He called it a Top. It is definitely good.
Some of the theories I've heard are that they were effigies of Mounds, they were put on the eyes of the dead (as far as I know none have ever been found like that), they were used as Tops (highly unlikely), and they were game pieces.
