We were out detecting a couple days ago and of course, we were getting nothing but clad and junk. Mary shows me a round very thin and very worn slug. I see a flat spot on the edge and think it might be a knockout from a power panel. I take it home and it sits in my box until today when I finally have time to check it out. It's really cruddy and a toothbrush just isn't getting the crud off. So I tumble it for 5 mins and pull it out. That's when I notice it has a small hole, and it looks like someone tried to make another small hole directly opposite, but only caused an indentation. So I put some Verdi-Care on it and find this:

You can see the number 8 on it. The other side has no detail at all, perfectly smooth like "Brad's butt" (
Hoover Boys saying) Anyway.... can I call Mary and tell her she found a Hibernia 1/2 penny?
