I ordered my Ace 250 today. I'll have it on Monday. Christmas of '05 I had my interest sparked when I received a BH Quicksilver as a gift. I messed around with it for a while, but found it very hard to pinpoint with and I got a bit frustrated. I've been lurking on this site since I got the BH. Now I will feel better about getting out and detecting since I know I'll be able to better identify and pinpoint the target and avoid digging a hole big enough to bury a car in. I've seen tons of reviews here and know that once I learn the machine, I'll enjoy the hobby more. I only wish that Western Washington wasn't so "young". I'll be sure to take the 250 along when I visit family in MA.

Welcome aboard tab fry I also live in Western Washington. Chances are you may/or may not have a little problem pinpointing with the ace as well. It all comes down to practice and learning where the "sweet spot" is for you're machine. Practice makes perfect. I look forward to seeing some of you're finds.,Daniel

Congrats on your purchase. As far as Western Washington being "so 'young'" - consider the following, please. Do you know when the fur trappers from the Hudson Bay Company slogged through the coastal streams of Washington? About 1790's - 1830's or so. Do you know when Lewis & Clark went on their Voyage of Discovery? 1803-1805. Don't sell your part of America short, there is old stuff to be found all over our nation. You might not find the colonial coppers, but you might find a silver trade bead or a fire starter steel. Visit an historical society office in your area and ask for a brief synopsis of your area's earliest history. You will undoubtedly be pleasantly surprised. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
