ID. Help please

Found both of these about a foot apart from each other. The button is silver. I believe the one is a hem weight but not sure. If it is, does anyone know the time period. Etc

It would appear you have found a Early Union Navy Button Civil War era ...

Hi... I suggest showing that button in the Civil War forum and seeing what information you can get. (Be sure to include any words or markings on the back.) I know there are many civilian blazer buttons (some older, some modern) that look a lot like that.
What material is the other item made of? It looks like lead. That might be a weight of some sort.
