ID help please!

I am looking for some information as to what I found in Richmond Virginia today. It is approximately 1 and 1/16 wide and 9/16 of an inch tall. I’m thinking some type of artillery fuse but I am unsure.

Like the smaller vent plug on a 55 gallon drum.
